Friday is national offer day to Y6 families and I thought it a good moment just to say a few words of welcome to our new parents.
It looks like we’ll have 180 new Year 7s joining us in September and what a great time to be joining us as we‘re just in the process of planning the refurbishment of our school buildings and upgrades to ICT provision with a generous £8m from SCC. It really does look exciting for the young people.
I will be aiming to visit all primary schools to speak with children over the next 2 weeks and will hopefully get to meet parents too. If you want to come and meet me and our superb team here at Chamberlayne give us a call or drop us an email. It’d be lovely to meet you and discuss your child’s interests and needs before we begin the transition programme.
I know secondary can seem daunting for parents. I have a son in Y10 and one in Y6 so I do understand any anxieties that you may have as a parent. Don’t let them fester, call us, come in and chat and we’ll work things out together if needed.
Y6 students: We‘re all delighted that you’re joining us and we can’t wait to meet you and hear your interests and what enthuses you. Hopefully we’ll see you soon.
Anyway got to go as we’re meeting parents of children who are getting very excited about going to Geneva on a school trip.
Bye for now.
