As you know the school was deemed as requiring special measures in February 2017. Since January 2017, many positive changes have been made which have brought hugely improved GCSE results and pleasing recognition from Ofsted and the Local Authority. Despite the improvements, it is still the responsibility of the Department for Education to ensure that Chamberlayne College becomes an academy. The Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) has recently written to me and outlined the beginning of this process. An proposed academy sponsor will be named shortly by the RSC and his Headteacher board. Further information to follow.
