CHAMBERLAYNE COLLEGE FOR THE ARTS
Expect More. Achieve More.
Geography
In Geography we expect students to run their own investigations into geographical issues, using a range of cartographical, graphical and statistical skills.
They will gain a detailed knowledge of places and concepts at local, national and international scales. They will draw together evidence to make decisions and justify their opinions, learning to present a balanced view. They will explain geographical concepts as well as the causes and consequences of change using a chain of reasoning, skills that will enable them to access college, university and the work place.
As well as employing excellent classroom based teaching practices, we use fieldwork and links with local businesses to make geography relevant and engaging. Our latest geography trips include:
Year 7 - Swanage
Year 8 - New Forest
Year 9 - Southampton City Centre
Year 10 - Woolston and Bournemouth
Year 11 - Residential visit to Snowdonia
